The Paramount Theatre is located in Denver, Colorado and is a prime example of the Art Deco architectural design. Open to the public since 1930, the Paramount is the only theatre from that time to have retained the original splendor for which it was known in its earlier days. This preservation of culture hasn't gone unnoticed; the Paramount Theatre has been declared an official Denver landmark, and as of 1980, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Paramount Theatre Denver was originally designed for the era’s silent movies and still boasts a Wurlitzer twin-console organ. The organ is one of only two of its kind remaining in the U.S., the sister instrument located in the famous Radio City Music Hall, New York.
Nowadays, the Paramount Theatre schedule offers Denver area locals and visitors a broad range of events and entertainment; organ recitals, rock concerts, stand-up comedy, readings, and of course - in recognition of the venue's origins - movies, are just a few of the events listed on the Paramount schedule in the past.
