Voter Empowerment Day September 26, 2017 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Welcome (5 minutes) Acknowledgement of elected officials and honored guests (2 minutes) Program 1) Knowing your rights (Renaldo Fowler) Program 2) How to register to vote (30 minutes) Using the State paper form Using ServiceArizona.com What fields are required What fields are optional (and why) Requirements:o Rights restored if convicted felon o Age (18 or older) o Resident of Arizona and County o Citizen of the United States § Excludes: permanent residents, green card holders, etc. o Not adjudicated incapacitated Program 3) Voting methodologies (30 minutes) ALL AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH In person o Paper ballot o Edge (accessible voting machine) § Large Print § Audio By Mail o PEVL (permanent early voting list) o Braille ballots o Large print ballots Special Election Board (traveling teams) o Teams will come to voters – reservations required Program 4) Ways you can participate (30 minutes) Become a Deputy Registrar (volunteer to register people to vote) Work the elections o Special Election worker (go to people who need help voting) o Citizen Board worker (separate ballots from affidavits) o Ballot Center Board (works the polling locations) Program 5) Using the equipment (open time) Ballot on Demand Printing system and self-check in at the polls Edge Voting Machine Braille ballots (sample ballots on display) Large Print ballots (sample ballots on display) Accommodations: No fragrances please.
