Faculty members from Santa Fe Community College’s School of Arts, Design, and Media Arts are featured in an upcoming exhibit at The Capitol Art Foundation East Rotunda Gallery, juried by Cynthia Sanchez, Director and Curator of the Capitol Art Foundation. The exhibition opens with a public reception from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, April 20 in the East Rotunda Gallery at the Roundhouse, State Capitol on the corner of Paseo de Peralta and Old Santa Fe Trail. The reception will be catered by students of SFCC’s Culinary Arts program. SFCC guitar faculty members Petra Babankova, Roberto Gonzales and Corey Jones will perform at the opening reception. The exhibit runs through Aug. 10.

The exhibition features work from the faculty members of SFCC’s School of Arts, Design and Media Arts, many of them professional artists, designers and photographers. The exhibit will include a wide range of mediums, including book arts, ceramics, drawing, fashion, fine woodworking, industrial design, jewelry, metal arts, painting, photography printmaking, sculpture and wood carving.

The School of Arts, Design, and Media Arts employs 12 full-time faculty and 74 adjunct faculty members across the disciplines and serves over 2,200 students on an annual basis. After completion of a degree or certificate, many students transfer to four-year schools in New Mexico and across the country to complete their studies or enter into the job market. SFCC is renowned for well-equipped studios and labs with modern and traditional equipment and technologies. Affordable tuition and relatively small class sizes contribute to a dynamic learning environment in the creative arts. Courses are taught by accomplished professionals in their respective discipline.
